[PAIN GIRL (PILOT)]

Digital Circus VAs doing their usual schtick in a vaguely "hell-themed" (Y2K mallgoth) environment, really daring stuff here I might just disembowel myself from how risky this kind of stuff is.

The character designs are very bold, appealing and identifiable, the one saving grace of this.

The gore is kinda softballed and quite lacking tbh, if there's gonna be constant pauses in what should be high octane action scenes with tons of violence then the actual violence that does occur should be striking to make up for that, but ultimately it doesn't.

Though I don't have the heart to fully blam this, I can tell that there is a good idea bubbling beneath the surface of platitudes & indie cliches but I don't have any hopes of seeing that.

This reminds me of The Shnookums & Meat Funny Cartoon Show and not anything original because I can only view new media through the lens of reducing it to a derivative of something that has already been done decades ago regardless of its objective or subjective quality.
